Membership Application

Georgia Association of Museums and Galleries is comprised of more than 200 members including individuals, businesses and art, history, natural history, and science museums.

Institutional Membership: dues based on the sliding scale below.

Open to all non-profit museums, galleries, history centers, science museums and museum associations dedicated to the development and implementation of professional museum practices. Membership benefits include: eligibility to attend the annual conference, one vote per Individual Member as listed below at the annual business meeting, Individual Memberships for a stated number of museum staffers, a free subscription to the newsletter, reduced rates for GAMG workshops, institutional listings of events and information in the newsletter and on the website, advertising opportunities in the newsletter, and opportunities for MUSE consultancies, Museum Intern Referral Services, and Staff/Student conference Scholarships.

Additional Individual Membership: $25
This rate applies to staff or volunteers that are working in institutions that are paid institutional members of GAMG.

Individual Membership: $50
This rate applies to staff or volunteers that are working in institutions that are NOT paid institutional members of GAMG. Membership benefits include: eligibility to attend the annual conference, one vote at the annual business meeting, a free subscription to the newsletter and reduced rates for GAMG workshops.

Sponsor Membership: $100
This rate applies to for-profit companies, corporations, institutions, or consultants interested in the goals of GAMG. Membership benefits include all Individual Membership benefits plus: listing in newsletter at date of joining or renewal, reduced registration rate at Annual Meeting, and reduced rate for exhibit table at Annual Meeting (no voting privileges at the Annual meeting).

Patron Membership: $500
Membership benefits include all Individual Membership benefits plus: six memberships for staff of institution of choice, advertising opportunities in newsletter, narrative profile of Patron in newsletter, one free registration to Annual Meeting, and recognition at Annual Meeting Awards Luncheon.

Student Membership: $15
Membership benefits include a free subscription to the newsletter and reduced rates for GAMG workshops (no voting privileges at the Annual meeting).

Membership Benefits and Services

Annual Conference: Held in January and offers workshops and seminars on programming, collection development, fund raising, and staff and volunteer development. The annual conference is hosted by a different institution each year and offers the opportunity to share ideas or concerns with colleagues.

Awards Luncheon: Held during the annual conference to recognize outstanding achievements by the museum board, staff, and volunteer members.

The Museum Services Exchange (MUSE): A program available to all member museums and organizations. GAMG professionals share their expertise in particular areas by providing consulting services.  Participating institutions are responsible for related expenses.

Newsletter: A quarterly publication that informs members of current issues, program ideas, and grant deadlines. GAMG programs are featured as are recent actions taken by the GAMG executive board.

Intern Program: GAMG encourages young people to enter the museum profession by matching college interns with participating state wide museums.
