Historic Westville

Boot Maker/Leatherworker Interpreter

Historic Westville is a living history village in Columbus, GA. We are a museum of Southern history and culture that represents the diversity of the Southern Experience by telling the stories of all southern peoples including European Americans, African Americans, Native Americans, and immigrants. We strive to show how their lives were inextricably linked but their experiences diverse. Through the use of exhibits, live interpreters, food and crafts, visitors will learn about life in the 19th century South and how major historical events affected the region. Historic Westville seeks an experienced part-time interpreter or craftsperson to show our visitors the craft of bootmaking in the 1800s.

Interviews will initially be held one-on-one with the Museum Manager via telephone and a second in-person one may be held on site where the interviewee will be introduced to other staff members. We are expecting the process to go through at least until the end of October and be roughly a month from initial interview until the first day of work.

$14 an hour—Part-time. Historic Westville is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer: Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran.
