Historic Westville

Native American Interpreter


Historic Westville is a living history village in Columbus, GA. We are a museum of Southernhistory and culture that represents the diversity of the Southern Experience by telling the storiesof all southern peoples including European Americans, African Americans, Native Americans,and immigrants. We strive to show how their lives were inextricably linked but their experiencesdiverse. Through the use of exhibits, live interpreters, food and crafts, visitors will learn aboutlife in the 19th century South and how major historical events affected the region.

This position will work to demonstrate period accurate practices of the Southeastern Tribes fromPre-Contact up to the end of the 19th Century, as well as their products and services with thecommunity, region, and world. The Historic Interpreter will provide information anddemonstration about the lifeways, traditional skills, and daily life of the Southeastern Tribes thatcalled this region of South Georgia home.
