Foundation Coordinator


The Kennesaw Museum Foundation is seeking an energetic and dependable individual for the fulltime salaried position of Foundation Coordinator. The purpose of the private, non-profit Kennesaw Museum Foundation is to generate funding in support of the educational activities of the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw. The Foundation Coordinator is responsible for accounts receivable and payable, organizing fundraising events, preparing agendas and taking minutes, and assisting the Executive Director with daily activities. The Foundation Coordinator must provide superior customer service and be able to work with members of the community. Normal schedule consists of Monday through Friday along with a few weekends and evenings due to events. Office location is inside of the Southern Museum. Starting compensation is $17–18 per hour depending upon experience. Benefits include paid vacation/sick leave, monthly health insurance stipend, and mileage reimbursement.

Examples of Work:

Communication and writing skills are required as are attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, effective time management and computer/database knowledge (including a willingness to learn and become proficient in Microsoft Publisher). Proficiency in QuickBooks Pro 2014 or later is essential! Professional appearance and sound customer service skills. Candidate must have dependable transportation for minor in-town trips for meetings, post office, bank, etc. A high school diploma is required; college degree is preferred. Background in non-profit, marketing and/or business setting is a plus.
