Cherokee County Historical Society

Program Manager


The Program Manager, in coordination with the Executive Director and Communications Assistant, is responsible for all educational programs, fundraisers, membership events, and other special events for the Historical Society. The Manager also oversees all content created for social media and maintains all webpages owned by the Historical Society. The Manager is also responsible for maintaining the advertising calendar and creating eye catching ads for the Society. The Manager needs to be familiar with PastPerfect and must be able to guide the Communications Assistant on collections management.

The right person for the Program Manager position must be outgoing, a great public speaker, and have a mind for logistics. The Program Manager is in part responsible for the Communications Assistant position so supervisory experience is required.

Essential Duties:

Starting salary is $38,000 with benefits. The position is full time. M.A. required, at least two years museum experience preferred.
