Museum Interpreter (Part Time)

The Atlanta History Center is looking for a highly motivated and results oriented professional to fill the role within the organization of Museum Interpreter.

This vital position requires a warm and enthusiastic demeanor with guests and co-workers, tact and diplomacy as part of a collaborative team, adaptability in a changing work environment, willingness to learn new methods of interpretation, and flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.

An interpreter works with historic content, and therefore, must be accurate with information; is an educator, and therefore must be concerned with accuracy and effectiveness; and finally, is a performer, and therefore, must be energetic and compelling. These three facets of the job are equally important.

A Bachelor's degree in history, theatre, education, museum studies or a related field is preferable in order to provide the highest standard of visitor experience possible.
